According to news paper reports and other sources, a stone prouct that is determined to be 700,000 years old, was found at an archeological site in Kami-Takamori, Tsukidate, Miyagi, Japan. The stone product was found together with its mother stone with the cutting faces of the two articles exactly matching each other.
The excavating team had previously discovered, at the same site, a set of 15 stone products that were buried in an intentional alignment, from a soil layer that represents 600,000 years ago.
The latest finding is from further deeper soil which is believed to belong to 600,000 - 720,000 years ago.
